Southern Utah Naturist Society

Behavioral Guidelines

The mission of a Southern Utah Naturist Society (SUNS) event is to create a safe and friendly environment where members and their guests can enjoy each other’s company based on mutual respect. Consideration for others, common sense and a few simple guidelines will help everyone create and sustain the special atmosphere that characterizes our gatherings. The safe, open, relaxed and inclusive atmosphere of our events is only possible because of the dedication of every member of SUNS to preserve it. We all have an obligation to watch out for one another and to assure everyone’s safety and comfort.

1.    Nudism is not about sex. Any behavior that would not be appropriate in a public setting is not appropriate at a SUNS event. This includes conversations, comments and jokes of a sexual nature. Keep it family friendly.

2.    The following topics of conversation are considered to be in poor taste at a SUNS event: Religion; Politics; Sex.

3.    Please respect the personal space of all individuals. It is everyone’s right to be free of unwanted attention including unwanted touching or being stared at, etc..

4.    Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests.

5.    Always sit on a towel when nude.

6.    Photography is not allowed at any event. Under no circumstances should you ever take a picture of someone at a SUNS event. SUNS marketing photographs will be pre-approved by the event director. Anyone who may be in the photograph will be asked for their written consent before the photograph is taken.

7.    Unless an event is a “clothed” event, clothing is always optional at our events. Nudity is never required. It is inappropriate to comment on anyone’s choice of being dressed or not.

8.    SUNS events are drug free. If you choose to drink alcohol at our events, you are expected to drink in moderation. Sloppy drunk is not fun!

9.    Think twice before giving a nudist a compliment. Compliments, though intended to be innocent, may be received as if the person’s body is being judged or evaluated in a sexual or non-sexual manner. When this happens, the ideals of nudism being a safe place to be naked, not judged, but rather accepted and equal become meaningless. So please be careful about the words you use with each other.

Thanks! The Southern Utah Naturist Society (SUNS)
